3381 posts · Joined 2009. #12 · Oct 12, 2012. The button doesn't light up and it doesn't do anything if the fob is programmed to unlock all doors on a press. If you set the fob to unlock just the drivers door the button becomes live to assist in unlocking the rest of the doors once your inside.

I managed to locate the locking hole above the starter and fitted the proper tool to lock the flywheel. The splined shaft is central with the key dead centre at top. Had to turn the camshaft slightly clockwise about 15 degrees to get the 8mm locking pin in. The sensor plate is back on and located into the keyway, same with the crank pully.

Look at replacing the battery if it's old. Logic: The body control module (BCM) normally opens the boot when it detects zero volts on the boot switch. If your battery is bad or badly connected then maybe the voltage drop caused by hundreds of amps (especially when cold) going to the starter is enough to trip the BCM.
I seem to have exactly the same problem. The door manual lock lever just moves a little, but fails to 'throw' the lock over either to lock or open. An earlier suggestion was to soak the central locking unit with WD40. Is the central locking unit in this case attached directly to the door latch mechanism? or is it elsewhere?

I have recently misplaced my main car key which contains a remote central locking key fob. This is for a Ford Mondeo estate (TDCi 52 plate) and Ford are quoting my £160 to replace the key (yes that 160!). Apparently this includes the cost of the key (£65+vat) and a fee for resetting the immobiliser codes (£75+vat). I find this amount to be
